The Open Bible subtitle for Chapter 8 is: Wisdom is everlasting. Although that's true I think I'd call this chapter, Wisdom crys out! It seems that wisdom is pleading with us; wanting so much for us to be a part of her. To "dwell" with her for "all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it." (verse 11b) We have to remember that wisdom is what Solomon asked for when the Lord "God said ask what I should give thee". (I Kings chapter 3 verse 5b) Solomon asked for an understanding heart to judge the people and discernment between good and bad. We will see how understanding and judgement are two of the pillars in the house where wisdom dwells. I'm getting ahead of myself because the house that wisdom built is in the next chapter. If you read that section in I Kings you will see how pleased the Lord was with his request and gave him ALL that he ever could have asked for.
Wisdom goes on to explain how she was "brought forth" to be with God in the beginning, throughout the preparation of the earth and the heavens wisdom was there. (vs 27) Again she cries at the end of the proverb "...harken unto me" for blessed are those who keep wisdom's ways. Blessed is the man or woman that hears and watches and waits at wisdom's door posts. The promise in verse 35 needs to be read out loud... Let's do it, "For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord". Do you know what Solomon got when he asked for wisdom? He obtained the favor of the Lord.
